Support group meetings coming soon

Sexual Abuse Survivors Inc. is happy to announce that we will be offering the community support group meetings! As the board members of SASI were walking through the journey of getting this non-profit started, we all agreed to one thing; outside of therapy there is not a lot of options for recovery when it comes to the topic of sexual abuse. We are changing that! When the horrible act of sexual abuse was forced on us our freedom of choice was taken away. Free will is one of the most amazing gifts we as humans can have and in the moment our gift was taken. When you walk into a support group ran by SASI we will happily give that gift back to you. In these rooms you are safe, you are loved, and you are our priority. After we became the victims of sexual abuse our minds, bodies, and souls changed. We will never be the same, nobody ever is after something as devastating as sexual abuse happens to them. To protect ourselves we created coping mechanisms, some of these coping mechanisms we are conscious of but some of them we are not. Support group meetings take the focus away from what happened to us and put the focus on something we can control, how our body, mind, and soul has chosen to protect itself (coping mechanisms). When we focus on how we can be better our abuser no longer has power over us, and we cross the bridge from victim to survivor.

A program of recovery

As survivors attend support groups they will hear about a program of recovery. Anyone wanting to be involved in this program of recovery is more than welcome to! This program is specially designed for those who are looking for a solution and who are willing to take a very in depth look at the coping mechanisms that are actively protecting them today. During every meeting the chairperson will ask all certified mentors to raise their hand, feel free to talk with anyone of those people to get more details about our program of recovery and to be linked up with a mentor to walk this journey with.
